The importance of CPR

Today in class I became certified in BLS with AED. This is basically CPR on adults, children, or infants as well as the use of a AED machine if necessary. I cannot stress enough how very important it is to be certified in CPR. I think it is something we all should do, regardless of our professions or lifestyles. Learning CPR can give you the tools you need to potentially save some one's life in a life-threatening situation. There is CPR and first aid training for community persons who are not healthcare providers and I strongly recommend this for everyone.

The American Heart Association offers a variety of training including hands only CPR, CPR and First Aide, CPR/BLS AED training, etc. They also have great tips online and can help you recognize the signs of cardiac arrest.

If you are interested in taking a course you can visit the American Heart Association. Please remember, you can make the difference between life and death with the right training.
